About me
Natalie Nazemi is a costume and textile designer whose work weaves together the tactile language of fabric and the narrative power of performance. She studied Fashion Design at the University of Westminster in London and Textile Design at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle. Her path has been shaped by formative collaborations with visionary designers such as Alexander McQueen and Steven Tai in London, Bernhard Willhelm in Paris, and A.F. Vandevorst in Antwerp.
Her journey in theatre began as a costume assistant at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, continued at the Württemberg State Theatre in Stuttgart, and since the 2022/23 season, she has brought her craft to the Staatsoper Hannover. In Stuttgart, she designed the costumes for Un/true by Gernot Grünewald and 18 Letters and a Fable from Belarus by Maryna Mikhalchuk. In the 2024/25 season, she created the costumes for Amna Shadad’s poetic interpretation of María de Buenos Aires at the Staatsoper Hannover.
